IBM reveals that its 14nm Z15 processor can reach 6 GHz

But during the International Virtual Solid State Circuit Conference (ISSCC 2021), a IBM revealed that the Z15 processor has 99.99999% uptime at the frequency of 5.20 GHz and the performance of a single core has been increased by 14%.

In addition, the manufacturer indicates that the Z15 is capable of reaching the frequency of 6.00GHz at “normal room temperature and voltage”. However, it is estimated that there may be problems with energy consumption and heat dissipation below 6GHz.
