I wore the iPhone 12 Pro Max in the original case for two months. He took off and was stunned: scratches!

For two months now I have been walking with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, taking pictures with it and, in general, using the capabilities of the flagship with all my might, taking it out of my pocket and putting it back a hundred times a day.

That is why from the first minutes of owning this smartphone, I put it in the original polycarbonate “armor”. For all the years of owning different iPhone models, I have firmly learned one rule: to carry the gadget in the original Apple case.

And if earlier it was somehow unimportant whether it was silicone, leather or transparent, then with the appearance of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, I add an amendment: carry the gadget in any original Apple case, except for transparent polycarbonate.

Why? Yes, I just took off this case from my smartphone now to wipe the polished edges with a cloth, and at the same time check them for scratches, you never know what.

On the obvious places of the smartphone, such as corners, there are no scratches or abrasions. I was already delighted, but then decided to study the sidewalls more carefully. See also you:

The buttons are scratched. How?

At first I thought it was dust. But no, these are scratches.

The original transparent iPhone case covers the volume and power buttons on the sides of the smartphone. On the one hand, this is good, but on the other …

Logically speaking, it is most likely that a speck fell between the cover and the polished button, which scraped the button every time it was pressed. The result is a lot of small scratches on the volume buttons.

Sadness. Sadness.

The same situation awaited me on the opposite side of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, where the gadget’s power button was located.

Well, just look – it’s pain.

There are no complaints about the case at all – it does not completely cover the bottom edge of the iPhone. But still, I very carefully inserted the cable, trying to use wireless chargers whenever possible.

That is, I definitely didn’t feel the Lightning hole while groping along the bottom edge of the smartphone. However, notice how badly the area around the charging connector is scratched.

Here it is, the payoff for the beautiful polished metal found in the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

And in conclusion, appreciate the healthy scratch that appeared out of nowhere, given that I have never carried a smartphone in my pocket with extraneous things.

So, the transparent original case, of course, is beautiful in that it allows others to check out your new “pro max”. But the payment for this will be the inevitable appearance of scratches on the edges in the most unexpected places.

But if I had leather version with microfiber inside, I’m sure there would be no such problems. For the purity of the experiment, I asked the editor-in-chief for his 12 “about max”, which he wears in a dark blue original leather case. Got it out, meticulously examined the buttons and edges – not a scratch.

Apple, how is that?

He wore it all the time. In a case.

Yes, it’s not in vain that I envied the iPhone 12 from the very beginning: both it and the iPhone 12 mini have matte edges, it’s much more difficult to scratch them.
