The Korea Consumer Agency and the Seoul Metropolitan Government recently issued a consumer damage advisory due to an increase in consumer complaints related to six overseas purchasing agency online shopping malls (New York Park, Shopping Chart, Shoe Stop, Cooing Factory, Trendy Shoes, and Play Multi) that sell famous brand sneakers. It was announced on the 8th that it was issued.

A total of 282 consumer complaints related to six companies received at the 1372 Consumer Consultation Center and the Seoul E-commerce Center for the past 7 months from October of last year to April of this year were Trendy Shoes (30.1%), Cooing Factory (21.6%), It was followed by Sustop (20.6%) and others.

Although the operator information of the six companies is different, the layout of the online shopping mall is similar, and the brands, products, detailed descriptions, and purchase reviews on sale are largely overlapping.

Most of the reasons for consumer dissatisfaction with these companies are delays in delivery and refunds (63.1%) and loss of contact (29.8%).

The companies claim that delivery is delayed because they sell products through an overseas purchasing agency method, and when a consumer requests to cancel an order, they charge overseas shipping fees or delay refunds because they are already shipping.

In response, the Korea Consumer Agency and the Seoul Metropolitan Government urged you to check if the site is reliable before using an overseas purchasing agency online shopping mall.

In addition, it was emphasized to use a credit card rather than cash when purchasing products, and not to do transactions that require only cash payment.
