MUSIC – An extraordinary event. Faced with the absence of concerts due to the coronavirus epidemic, Radio France is offering, on Saturday January 23, a giant musical event on the antennas of France Inter, France Musique, France Bleu, Mouv ‘and Fip. Her name? “Hypernuit”.
Yseult, Oxmo Puccino, Gaël Faye, Kiddy Smile … A hundred French-speaking artists “from all walks of life”, notes The Parisian this Wednesday, January 13, will take turns live on the stage of studio 104 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The performances will be solo, but also in duo and sometimes in trio. It is Didier Varrod, the musical director of Radio France, who will host the event. At his side, singer Malik Djoudi and the performer of the song ”À la folie”, Juliette Armanet. A “clubbing” session, from 2 to 3 am, will close the evening with Pablo Winter and other DJs like Yuksek.
According to the information given by Radio France, we will also find Eddy de Pretto, Yael Naim, Yelle, Olivia Ruiz, but also Benjamin Biolay and Erik Truffaz.
“The biggest concert of Radio France”
“It’s been almost a year now that you haven’t attended a concert, not danced on a track, not sung loudly in a packed hall, not vibrated in unison on a song. It’s been almost a year now that the world of live music has become one of silence, closed rooms, thwarted vocations ”, breathes the host in a statement.
He adds: “So with great evils, great remedies. To do good, to give strength, to repair, to also express our anxiety, our pain, our madness, we prepared the biggest concert that Radio France has ever given: a Hypernuit, a night of radio, of all live music to extend our support for the sector that we have been supporting since March. ”
The Parisian indicates that the program will be sprinkled with “sound tags” aimed at informing listeners about the reality of “shadow professionals”, namely technicians, press officers, turners and all those people who are essential to the entertainment world and culture.
Even if the number of artists and the duration of the concert make the Radio France event an impressive program, this kind of festivities is nothing new. Since the start of the epidemic, many concerts have been broadcast live, such as that of singer Robyn on Radio Nova during the first lockdown. Some took place on social networks, like the Arte Concert Festival in November 2020. Others on TV, like the “One World: Together At Home” organized by Lady Gaga last April.
