Husqvarna tests new Vitpilen 1301

Husqvarna started working on the Vitpilen 1301 sub-type in 2016, but despite the fact that the motorcycle attracted a lot of attention, the neo-retro hyperneed project was not realized.

However, it seems that Whitpilen is back in the game, and if the latest photos are to be believed, road tests of this machine are currently being performed.

While the 2016 prototype was heavily influenced by Whitpilen’s design language, the new model rejected that bodywork. Instead, the overall look is reminiscent of the sharp styling of the KTM 1290 Super Duke motorcycle.

Although the Whitpylen 1301 still features the same futuristic round headlight, it now comes with a new composite subframe, the same component available on the Super Duke. Not only that, the test model also has a one-sided fork that the 1290 boasts.

While some might argue that the Whitpilen 1301 is just another variant of the Super Duke 1290, experience with the Husqvarna Norden 901 shows that the motorcycle will have its own “personality”. That is why we hope that the great Whitpilen will bring encouraging vibes.

At the moment, additional details are still scarce, but the allegations suggest that the new model will debut next year.
