Ústí nad Labem – Hundreds of people came to see the New Year’s fireworks in the center of Ústí nad Labem, the Czech News Agency found out. This time the city blew it up from the top of the Větruše chateau so that more people could see it even from more distant corners of the town. The hotel with a restaurant rises above the city, so it can be seen not only from the center, but also from Střekov, Krásný Březno or the North Terrace. The light show lasted ten minutes, and people could tune in to the local radio station, which broadcast a countdown and background music.

The city prepared the event to celebrate the arrival of the new year so that people would not gather, and therefore parking at the castle was limited. However, crowds of people stood along the Elbe on the Střekov side and opposite in the area behind the station. Some people watched the fireworks from Beneš Bridge.

In addition to public transport, many people also used cars, so it was full in the normally half-empty parking lot below the station. There was no empty space left even at the cycle path towards Brno. Short columns were often formed in the narrow streets, but the traffic and movement of people were supervised by both police and police officers.

Martin from Brno, who is with his partner in Ústí, also came to see the New Year’s fireworks. “I liked it very much, they had it nicely made up. At the beginning it was slower and then it started really well,” he described his feelings from the event. His partner Nikola stated that she also liked the fireworks, but would like to be at the launch.

On the last day of the year, fireworks in Most lit up the sky. It took place at Hněvín Castle. The deduction and music for the fireworks were broadcast online via the city’s youtube channel on the website, Facebook and the large screen, as well as the entry with moderator Petr Říbal. However, the city canceled the planned New Year’s Eve program.
