Huawei P50 Pocket officially. Foldable smartphone with a hyperspectral camera

While the Huawei Mate X2 is a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Huawei P50 Pocket will compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The Huawei P50 Pocket has a foldable case and a round display

Like the rest of the P50 line, the Pocket has a casing two round islands. One of them, however, not hides additional cameras, but secondary display for notifications and widgets.

Huawei P50 Pocket with:

  • 6.9 inch internal screen, OLED, 120 Hz, 439 ppi;
  • 1 inch circular outdoor screen, OLED, 60 Hz, 328 ppi.

The manufacturer boasts that the hinge has been designed in such a way that no gap appears when folded.

Huawei P50 Pocket will be available in 3 color versions. Black has a smooth body, white has a diamond texture, and gold has a wavy pattern.

Huawei P50 Pocket is armed with a triple camera with a hyperspectral sensor

The second round frame on the housing houses:

  • 40 Mpix main camera with f / 1.8 aperture;
  • 13 Mpix camera with f / 2.2 ultra wide lens;
  • 32 Mpix camera with hyperspectral matrix and f / 1.8 aperture.

The hyperspectral apparatus records electromagnetic waves in the range beyond visible light. By switching to the mode of waves invisible to the human eye, you can get, for example, such a photo of flowers:

The data collected by an additional sensor is also to translate into an improvement in the quality of photos from the main camera. Thanks to registration an image invisible to the human eyeThe Huawei P50 Pocket is to even conquer the detail of photography in more difficult lighting conditions.

The hyperspectral apparatus was used in yet another ingenious way. It can be switched to UV mode and & hairsp; – & hairsp; using the special function & hairsp; – & hairsp; check if or sunscreen was properly applied to the face.

As there is a small display next to the triple camera, its capabilities can also be used to take selfies.

Huawei P50 Pro has almost top specification

The heart of the foldable phone is Snapdragon 888. Due to the licensing restrictions caused by the war with the US government, the chip, however, has 5G connectivity turned off.
