HP Introduces BP5000, First Liquid-Cooled Home 4K Laser Projector for Quiet Operation

The ultra short throw projectors are gaining importance in recent years thanks to their versatility to offer diagonals of more than 100 inches with equipment that we can install a few centimeters from the wall.

However, as we already saw in its day, have a problem related to the relative high noise generated by its ventilation systems, something that is more noticeable if we sit close to the projector.

This is exactly the problem that the new projector wants to eliminate as a result of collaboration between GAC Technology Group y HP who have been baptized as BP5000, a model with source of ALPD 3.0 laser light with an average operation of 25,000 hours, DLP projection system and 4K resolution HDR10 compliant.

Capable of producing a diagonal of 120 inches to 33 cm of the wall or screen that we use, its compact and flattened design hides inside a liquid cooling system similar to that of the most advanced computers and that promises to generate a noise level less than 30 dB, caused by a pair of fans that work at very low revolutions.

The projector emits a maximum light output of 6,000 optical lumens that after reaching the screen remains at a more than considerable 2,000 lumens, capable of being able to offer a powerful and contrasted image even in ambient light conditions and covering 90% of the DCI-P3 color space.

Also comes with integrated sound system with capacity for two stereo speakers 2×15 watts, although if we want we can use the optical S / PDIF or analog 3.5 mm jack outputs to output the audio to external equipment. It has two HDMI ports, one of them compatible with ARC, and a USB 2.0 port for direct content playback.

This reproduction is handled by the quad-core MS6A848 CPU with Mali GPUs that are accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage for apps, movies and games. Incorporates Bluetooth 4.0, dual band WiFi N, Ethernet port and platform smart TV Roku Express 4K from which to access streaming services. It is also compatible with Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant and we can make screen mirrorimg from iOS and Android mobiles.

Price and availability

The BP5000 projector is finishing a financing campaign on Indiegogo and its managers hope to start distributing units to those who collaborate with the project starting in September for a price of 2341 euros, which represents a 30% discount with respect to the final price of the equipment.
