how to turn off auto-play of the next episode

Here’s how to turn off automatic playback (or “autoplay”) of the next episode, on SVOD streaming services where this feature is enabled by default.

Most SVOD streaming services have incorporated the auto-play feature of the episode by default. This obviously joins the strategy of binge watching, in order to link a single season in a short time. But not everyone enjoys this type of viewing, and some users even just enjoy the credits. Except that the time to react and manually stop playback is very short – around 5 seconds.

You don’t necessarily think about it, but this feature can be disabled on most platforms. Here’s how.

For Netflix, head for the Account page (also available from the Netflix homepage, top right). Then the steps:

  • At the bottom of the page, go to the ” Profiles and Parental Controls »And press the small arrow to the right of your profile, to scroll through a series of tabs.
  • In Reading settings, click on Modifier.
  • In Autoplay controls for [votre prénom], just uncheck the section Automatically play the next episode in a series on all devices.
  • Click on To register at the bottom.

Ideally, sign out of your account and then sign back in.

You must go to the profile page. To do this, click at the top right on your account image then scroll down to Edit profiles. If you have more than one profile, select the one of your choice. Then on the page that appears, the functionality is at the top, section Autoplay. Just uncheck the button.

It is in the Profile page that you can deactivate the autoplay. // Source: Screenshot
