Do Bulgaria we decided to fly away as we have been used to for many years. So without a travel on your own. Before the pandemic, it was easier, but even now such holidays are easy to manage, you just have to prepare thoroughly at home.
This means finding out the exact conditions of entry into the country you want to visit. Find relevant information on the official website Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Don’t rely on various internet forums on social networks.
Flight from Hungary
We flew to Burgas on the Black Sea by low cost airline from Budapest. The prices of return tickets with luggage were acceptable and from Košice the journey to the airport took us about 3 hours.
Since we are all fully vaccinated, we had no worries about possible inspections. And so our journey went without stress.
There were no checks at the Slovak-Hungarian border, and we were pleasantly surprised that in Hungary, drapes are no longer mandatory indoors or at the airport.
So we put the veil down and waited for our flight. Our covid passports were checked on us only when boarding the plane. However, we already had to put on a veil on the plane – not respirators.
Measures in Bulgaria
Before the holiday, we found information on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conditions of entry into Bulgaria.
Fully vaccinated are not restricted in any way and non-vaccinated must submit tests. Either antigen not older than 48 hours, or PCR test – maximum 72-hour.
You must also fill in the form required for entry, which is required by the Bulgarian side. The form is simple and anyone can handle it, even if you don’t know English well.
Upon arrival at the airport in Burgas, we passed passport control and everyone thoroughly checked the covid passports. If you didn’t have them on your mobile, you just had to submit a printed version. In Bulgaria, however, drapes are still mandatory indoors.
Full beaches, open restaurants
We spent our holidays on the famous Sunny Beach and felt like we were in front of a pandemic. The beaches were full, discos, bars worked, and massages. We didn’t wear the veil anywhere, only in supermarkets, not in beach shops.
Well-known attractions such as amusement parks, beach trains and carriage rides are also available to tourists. Of course, there are also boat trips and various excursions offered by local travel agencies. And you will also enjoy your favorite retro photography.
However, strict hygiene was observed by the hotel staff when serving food. You picked up the buffets yourself, but the waiters were in robes and gloves, and they cleaned the tables every day and cleaned everything.
The journey home was also smooth. Even when boarding the plane, the covid no longer checked the passports, only the boarding passes. At the airport in Budapest, we had to fill out a simple form that we are just passing through the country, ie a document of transit.
In the end, no one checked us either, and there were no checks at our borders. After this experience, we know that you really don’t have to worry about traveling abroad.
