How 750 SMEs and ETIs will be able to benefit from cybersecurity support in 2023

France continues to deploy its national cybersecurity strategy. As part of this plan, announced in February 2021 by Emmanuel Macron, a new component endowed with 30 million euros will be launched in 2023, announced Wednesday, November 16 the Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition, Jean-Noël Barrot, during of his visit to the European cybersecurity week in Rennes.

This new component includes a set of measures specifically dedicated to SMEs and ETIs, the most targeted in terms of ransomware attacks according to Anssi. To raise their level in cybersecurity, the government is planning three actions: a communication campaign to promote the site, a national assistance system for victims of cyberattacks which suffers from a lack of notoriety; the creation of a free online self-diagnosis service to allow each company to better understand its level of cybersecurity and the first steps to take; and finally the launch of a “cyber shield” which will target 750 SMEs and ETIs.
