At exactly 16.30 WITA, Thursday (1/6), the largest commercial aircraft currently owned by Emirates Airlines, A380-800, landed perfectly at Ngurah Rai Airport.
The inaugural flight of A380-800 carrying Emirates Airlines brought 615 foreign tourists from various countries.
“This flight is historic because it is the first time and it indicates that Bali in particular and Indonesia in general remains a destination for foreign tourists for holidays.
I hope other airlines will join in transporting tourists with wide-body aircraft,” said Bali Governor Wayan Koster during the welcoming ceremony for the Emirates A380 aircraft at Bali Airport, Thursday (1/6).
As of April 2023, foreign tourists visiting Bali have reached 1.5 million people and it is targeted that by the end of 2023 there will be 4.5 million tourists.
Governor Koster is even optimistic that by the end of the year there will be 5 million tourists.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Faik Fahmi said he had optimally prepared for the arrival of the A380 aircraft.
