Hilja Tamm, one of Läänemaa’s most enthusiastic dance leaders, not only guides Ridala folk dancers, but also manages the library.

Tamm, who won the title of the best librarian in Lääne County last year, proudly shows off his possessions. One of the rooms in the library is called the heritage culture room by the hostess herself. “This is my favorite room and the closest to my heart,” he said. In this room, a shelf of literature introducing folk dance and people related to it takes pride of place.

Folk dance has been an important part of Tamme’s life since she moved to Ridala in 1977.
