Heritage Customs Valiance Convertible to Open Defender Roof – DRIVE

The car will cost the customer 138,000 euros (11.48 million rubles) excluding shipping and VAT, but this amount includes the source for the conversion, the Defender for 65,000 euros. Three versions of the car are named after the Cote d’Azur, Solihull (hometown of Land Rovers) and Red Beach in Santorini.

The modern Land Rover Defender can offer either a glass sunroof or a fabric sliding roof in terms of adding sun and air to the cabin. But you cannot fold the top completely or remove its sections. In this, the Defender loses to such rivals as the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler. The situation was decided to be corrected by Heritage Customs from the Netherlands. It will launch five open Defenders in 2022, the Valiance Convertible, based on the Defender 90 short-wheelbase modification.

The Valiance Convertible is available in three colors: blue Côte d’Azur with a cognac-colored soft top and 22-inch Space Cowboy wheels with white sidewall tires; greenish Solihull Sand with 20 “white retro discs and sand top (shades mimic the first HUE I66 Land Rover from 1948); matt red Kokkini Paralia with 22 ” Supersonic wheels and black top.

In addition to the retractable roof and special paintwork, Heritage Customs products will receive Spinneybeck leather trim, Heritage exterior and interior decoration packages – Magic Metal Copper, Magic Metal patinated Copper, Magic Metal Gun Metal, Magic Metal Tin. Also, Solihull Sand has other wheel options (with a modern design instead of retro) and a different roof color (yellow-brown), and in the Kokkini Paralia, the black fabric top can be replaced with a beige one.

Black or gray inserts for bumpers, classic or sports seats and steering wheels diversify the final combination of details.

Valiance Convertible motors not listed. Apparently, it will be possible to choose among the younger gasoline and diesel units 2.0 and 3.0 (200-300 forces). However, the top 525-horsepower SUVs with a V8 5.0 compressor engine are clearly left out, based on the declared cost of the source code up to 65,000 euros (the new Defenders 90 with the “eight” in Europe ask for more than one hundred thousand euros, and in the Netherlands even 210 thousand). We add that nothing has been heard about the desire of Land Rover itself to make an open Defender. Previously, the manufacturer only hinted at a potential expansion of the range with a more extreme version of the SVX and a pickup truck.
