The serving temporary prime minister, Eduard Heger, expects the government of experts led by Ľudovít Ódor to continue in the socio-economic area. He also called the fulfillment of the tasks arising from the recovery plan important. Member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and chairman of the non-parliamentary Hlas Peter Pellegrini, on the other hand, wants the Ódor government to be more direct in helping people, pointing out, for example, the issue of rising food prices. They stated this in the RTVS discussion program Sobotné dialogy.
“Ódor should inform about the reality of the state of Slovakia after Heger’s departure. I will challenge him to do so,” said the leader of Hlas. The prime minister considers the future prime minister to be an experienced person who understands public finances. He is also pleased by the fact that Lívia Vašáková, who until now worked as the general director of the section of the recovery plan, will become the vice president of the Slovak government for the recovery and resilience plan and the use of European funds.

Heger, who is also the chairman of the non-parliamentary party Democrats, thinks that there are certain risks in the government of experts, and he told President Zuzana Čaputová the same. “We will wait for the government’s program statement and the steps they want to take,” he added. If it goes well, they are willing to support the new government. According to Pellegrini, the new government will not receive the trust of almost anyone in the parliament. “You can’t support a government you don’t have the power to form,” he said. According to the Prime Minister, the President acted under pressure from Richard Sulík (SaS) when selecting an expert for the post of Minister of Economy. He thinks that Petar Dovhun was ultimately chosen by Čaputová, but Sulík interfered intensively in an incorrect way.
The outgoing prime minister noted that from the beginning of his tenure as prime minister, he believed that he would manage the situation in connection with the quarrels between Igor Matovič (OĽANO) and Sulík. “It turned out not to be possible,” he said. Pellegrini noted that Heger is also to blame for the chaos in the country. The serving prime minister also admitted his disappointment that the head of Slovak diplomacy, Rastislav Káčer, decided to resign.
According to Pellegrini’s Hlas-SD, after the elections, he will only be in a government that will benefit Slovakia. For now, they exclude OĽANO and ĽSNS from cooperation. At the same time, he does not think that those people who brought the country into a frenzy should get a chance again. According to Heger, it is important for Democrats to be the party of peace.
