Ogier was on the road with his Toyota Yaris WRC to test in Saint-André-de-Rosans, France, near the Monte Carlo track.
According to eyewitnesses, Ogier blocked his four wheels when making a corner, after which his Toyota went off the track.
Ogier and co-driver Ingrassia were able to free themselves from the wreckage. A spokesperson for the Toyota team did report that Ingrassia was transferred to hospital a little later as a precaution, for a check-up.
It is unclear whether Ogier will be able to resume his testing program before the start of the reconnaissance for Monte Carlo early next week.
