Long-term politician Ivan Varga, who served on the National Council from 2002 to 2016, died after long-term heart problems at the age of 68. The information was provided by the portal ereport.sk.
This is the second member of Smer-SD who has died. In February of this year, the public said goodbye to Ľubomír Petrák, a member of the NRSR and the mayor of Hurbanová Ves. Petrák was the face of the Direction for many years. He died at the age of 59.
Ivan Varga was elected a member of the National Council (NR SR) for the party SMER – Social Democracy. He was also a member of the Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for Agriculture.
During his tenure in the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the deceased politician also served as a member of the Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for Agriculture, later in the Parliamentary Committee for Finance, Budget and Currency and subsequently also in the Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for Health.
