The driver of a car in Springfield, Colorado, USA, was caught speeding and tried to switch places with his dog to avoid being caught.

Police on the evening of May 13 caught the driver going 52 miles per hour (84 km/h) on a road with a 30 mph (48 km/h) limit and the officer observed the man change position and goes to the passenger side before exiting the car.

The man claimed that he was not behind the wheel but his dog, with the police immediately realizing that he was drunk. When asked how much alcohol he had consumed, the man tried to run away, but officers caught him within 20 meters and arrested him.

After being taken to hospital, the man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and driving while impaired, as well as previous warrants for his arrest.
