Adam Gajan could be the only Slovak goalkeeper whose name will be heard in this year’s overseas NHL rookie draft.

Slovak goalkeeper Adam Gajan in the quarter-final match against Canada at the Under-20 World Cup.
The nineteen-year-old from Popradčan shined at other under-20 world hockey championships, where he was declared the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Renowned expert Corey Pronman from The Athletic magazine ranks him as one of the best players in terms of physicality that profiliga clubs will be able to select in the upcoming draft.

Pronman placed Gajan in second place in his ranking of prospects who physically and playing style resemble established NHL players.
“Gajan has an average build for a pro league goalkeeper, but he is very athletic. His side-to-side movement in the goal is second to none and he can make spectacular saves. One official from the NHL told me that it is similar to the best goalies in the league,” revealed the expert.

In addition to Gajan, two other Slovaks appeared in Pronman’s ‘athleticity’ ranking outside the top eight – forwards František Dej and Samuel Honzek.
Forward Dalibor Dvorský was mentioned by the expert among the players with the best work with the puck, and forward Ondrej Molnár among the best skaters. He did not comment further on them.
