Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group Opens Founder Seong-gi Lim Memorial Hall at Seoul Headquarters

Hanmi Pharmaceutical announced on the 7th that it has prepared the ‘Lim Seong-gi Memorial Hall’ on the 20th floor of Hanmi Pharmaceutical’s headquarters in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the life, achievements and philosophy of the late founder and former chairman Im Seong-ki.

The opening ceremony held at 11 am on the 7th to coincide with the 48th anniversary of the founding of Hanmi Pharmaceutical was held as simple and simple as possible according to the character of Chairman Lim. Only major executives, including Song Young-sook, chairman of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group, attended the meeting while complying with COVID-19 quarantine rules.

Chairman Song Young-sook said, “The memorial was prepared to fully support the will of Chairman Im Seong-gi, who has been running towards a pharmaceutical powerhouse with a spirit of creativity, innovation and challenge. I hope that it will be an open space that commemorates the life of Chairman Lim, who has devoted himself to finding the ‘substance’.”

The Im Sung-ki Memorial Hall was designed by Min Hyun-sik, one of the world’s leading architects.

In addition to the bust of Chairman Lim made by Korea’s leading sculptor, Shin Sin-seop, 12 R&D products of creation and innovation that Chairman Lim worked during his lifetime are on display. You can view videos of Chairman Lim’s upbringing and photos that have not been released until now, such as photos of Chairman Lim in his 30s.

At the entrance of the memorial hall, there is an exhibition of ‘Eternal Moment (in the 14th photo exhibition in the Himalayas)’ by Lee Chang-soo, who was deeply impressed by Chairman Lim’s visit in 2014. Past the entrance, in front of the bust of Lim Shinmun-seop, the artist who faces him, 12 innovative products representing the numerous achievements of Chairman Lim are on display.

Mokseo and Benjamin trees are planted in the rest area overlooking the Olympic Park, bringing life to the memorial. Unpublished photos of Chairman Im in his 30s can be seen through the screen installed in the rest area.

Born in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do in 1940, and passed away in August 2020, Chairman Im Seong-ki opened the ‘Im Seong-gi Pharmacy’ under his name in 1967, and based on this, established Hanmi Pharm in 1973 at the age of 33.

The Im Seong-gi Memorial Hall is open from 11 am to 3 pm on weekdays, and due to the spread of Corona 19, only Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group executives and staff will visit for the time being.
