However, the man who is familiarly called Edo ensured that Batik air flight operations at Halim Airport were still running normally.

Previously, the Ministry of Transportation revealed that it plans to revitalize Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP), in order to increase the flight safety factor.

Director General of Civil Aviation Novie Riyanto said the revitalization was carried out considering Halim Airport has a vital function, but there has been a decline in the quality of airport elements, especially the runway.

“We are preparing the design of the air side, such as runway reconstruction and repair of the drainage system. We are discussing things with various parties,” said Novie Riyanto in a statement monitored in Jakarta, Friday (11/5/2021).

Novie explained that intensive discussions are being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, Air Force, Ministry of Finance, State Secretariat, Ministry of PUPR, Angkasa Pura II, and other relevant stakeholders.

He added that currently being discussed various things that must be prepared regarding the impact of this revitalization process which takes approximately one year.

This is to ensure safety, and the best service can be met.

“The operationalization plan and others will be submitted after discussions with the relevant Ministries and Institutions,” he concluded.
