[아시아경제(수원)=이영규 기자] Gyeonggi Province will openly sell 604 luxury bags, watches, and precious metals seized for tax collection from high local tax arrears online from the 23rd to the 29th.
Items to be sold include 87 items of luxury bags such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton, 45 items of luxury watches such as Cartier and Rolex, 268 items of precious metals, 78 items of golf clubs and spirits, 35 items of general art, and 90 automobiles, for a total of 604 items.
Major public offerings include a Cartier watch with an appraised value of 7 million won, a Chanel bag with an appraised value of 2.5 million won, and precious metals with an appraised value of 6.24 million won.
The bidding method is an individual bidding for each item, and the person who offers the highest price during the bidding period wins the bid. The successful bidder will be announced on the 1st of the following month at 10:00 am. Payment for goods must be made to the designated account by 6 pm on the 5th of the following month.
The public offering can be viewed through an online electronic public auction site.
If the auctioned goods are found to be fake, the amount paid is refunded and 100% of the appraised value is compensated by the appraiser at the same time.
Kim Min-kyung, head of the Department of Taxation and Justice, said, “Most of the items on the online electronic auction were found by searching the homes of chronic delinquent taxpayers with weak tax awareness. We will work harder,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province sold 410 seized items through the nation’s first non-face-to-face online electronic public sale in October last year and collected a total of 460 million won in arrears.
