Guns N’ Roses is suing a gun dealer who allegedly used their name

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, the band’s lawyers said a corporation that runs the online store is tricking consumers into thinking the business is related to the rock band.

Guns N’ Roses “does not wish to be associated with the defendant, a firearms and weapons retailer,” the complaint states, according to AFP.

In addition, the band alleged that the gun dealer “takes political views related to the regulation and control of firearms and weapons on the website that may be polarizing to many American consumers.”

The lawsuit identified Jersey Village Florist LLC as the owner and operator of Texas Guns and Roses, which is said to sell firearms and ammunition, scopes, bulletproof vests and metal safes, among other items.

The online business is registered to an address in Houston and obtained the Texas registration list in 2016 without the “approval, license or consent” of Guns N’ Roses, according to the complaint.

Lawyers for the rock group are seeking a jury trial and an injunction barring use of the name, as well as unspecified punitive damages.

The online store has not yet commented on the accusations.

Guns N’ Roses, formed in 1984, is one of the most successful bands of all time and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Its members are Axl Rose, Saul “Slash” Hudson and Michael “Duff” McKagan.
