GuestReady’s number of reservations grows 15 times during the summer – Turismo & Lazer

Between June and August, GuestReady registered 15,000 local accommodation reservations. The number is 15 times higher than that recorded during the summer of 2019.

The rise in this number also resulted in a 15% growth in the occupancy rate, when compared to the same period in 2019, says in a statement the Swiss company that manages short and medium-term accommodation, adding that this year in Portugal was a record, with an “average summer occupancy of 90%”, above the global average of the remaining four countries where it operates – UK, France, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.

“This summer was definitely a consolidation of the return to normality,” says Rui Silva, Managing Director of GuestReady in Portugal and Spain. “We received many French, Spanish and North American guests, but also Portuguese, who represented 12% of all bookings made in Portugal,” he concludes.

Among the nationalities of the more than 50 thousand guests who used GuestReady are 19% Spanish, 17% French and 10% Portuguese. In Lisbon, properties opened doors mainly to North Americans (15%), French (13%) and Spaniards (10%).

Keeping up with all these increases, GuestReady also says that the company’s portfolio has grown in Portugal to 1,100, four times more than in the last pre-pandemic year.

In total among the five countries and 30 cities where it operates, the company has 4,000 properties. In 2021, the Swiss company went ahead with the purchase of The Porto Concierge, the largest Airbnb management firm in Portugal.
