Great architectural solutions arrived at the competition “Typical Fruška Gora holiday house”

The topic of last year’s architectural competition organized by the Municipality of Irig in cooperation with the Society of Architects of Novi Sad (DaNS) was A typical Fruska Gora holiday house. The goal of the competition was to find the best quality through the valorization of several received ideas.

Depending on the size and square footage, the objects are classified into three different categories. A total of 18 works were received for type 1 house (building up to 100 m2), 17 works for type 2 (building up to 150 m2), and 13 works for house type 3 (building up to 300 m2).

Type 1 – holiday home for one owner (family, individual)

The main feature of the awarded work architect Stefan Radošević is, according to the jury, a modern interpretation of the idea taken from traditional architectural practice in the form of forming a building around a centrally placed fireplace.

The added value of this spatial, functional and symbolic core of the building lies in the fact that this space is both internal and external, open and closed, and that depending on the user’s preference can be completely private or become a place of meeting and contact.

The interaction between outside and inside is intensified by the use of large glass surfaces, covered and open terraces.

The use of a wooden constructive system is characteristic of the building, which is to be commended when it comes to its application in larger buildings, according to the jury. The basis is functional and well programmed so that it allows users different modes of use.
