Grants for Russian technology circles will be raffled off by the Innovation Promotion Fund and the NTI Circle movement

The grant competition is held in three areas. The first is the development of technological solutions to increase the efficiency of individual and small-scale production in the resource centers of the NTI Circle movement. The second type of projects that can be applied for a grant is aimed at integrating the technological challenges of NTI, technology competitions and competitions into the education system. The third thematic block is the development of digital management and talent support technologies and their introduction into the practice of the Circle movement.

Thanks to the UMNIK program, we can support the best projects aimed at the development of additional technological education for young people, – emphasized the leader of the NTI working group “Circle movement”, Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics Dmitry Zemtsov. – According to the results of the last grant competition, several circle members were among the winners, who began their career as schoolchildren at the NTI Circle Movement Olympiad, the Practice of the Future project schools, and now create educational products for the circles themselves. Applications are accepted for the competition from individual participants or team leaders between the ages of 18 and 30. The winners will receive grant support for the development of projects in the amount of RUB 500,000: RUB 200,000 in 2022 and RUB 300,000 in 2023. The final of the competition will be held on December 17, 2021 in a remote format, the winners will be announced in early 2022.

The joint grant competition of the Fund for Assistance to Innovation and the NTI Circle Movement is being held for the fourth time, during which time 37 projects were supported by grants. The winners of the UMNIK program 2020/2021 are developing an educational complex for teaching applied neurotechnologies, a training kit for an orbital space debris monitoring system, a software and methodological complex for designing the CubeSat spacecraft, a smart greenhouse and personal farms for project activities of schoolchildren in the field of agrobiotechnology and other educational solutions for technology circles.

Circle movement NTI Is an all-Russian community of technology enthusiasts, which by 2021 reached more than 300,000 schoolchildren, students and mentors in all regions of the country. The goal of the Circle movement is to form the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, managers capable of conceiving and implementing projects, creating new solutions and technology companies aimed at developing Russia and the whole world. To achieve this goal, the roadmap of the National Technological Initiative “Circle Movement” has been approved. The tasks of the NTI are integrated into the National Project “Science”. 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Russian circle movement, anniversary events are included in the federal plan for the Year of Science and Technology.

Among the initiatives of the Circle movement: the first team engineering competition for schoolchildren and students – the National Technology Olympiad, NTO (formerly the NTI Olympiad), project schools and hackathons “Practices of the Future”, the All-Russian action “NTO Lesson”, a system of mass training, certification and employment of mentors youth projects “Academy of Mentors”, a digital platform for supporting talent and a competition for applicants “Talent NTO”, R&D program on technologies for joint training of humans and artificial intelligence “Centaur” and other projects.

Fund for the Promotion of Innovation (Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology) is a state non-profit organization that provides financial support to young innovators and small businesses that are engaged in high-tech developments with the potential for commercialization.
