In the first half of 2021, the company has deposited Tk 5,450 crore in the government treasury for taxes, VAT, duties, fees, Forge license and wave allocation fees, which is 8.2 percent of the company’s total revenue.
Internet usage per subscriber has increased by 36.6 percent and in the case of internet subscribers, the growth has been 6 percent per annum.
According to the company’s press release, Grameenphone has invested Tk 517.50 crore in network coverage development in the second quarter of 2021. The total number of sites is 18 thousand 417.
In the last three months, the company has added 1.3 million new subscribers to the network, which is 10.1 percent more than the same period last year. And through this, the total subscribers of GP have stood at 62 million. Of which 4 crore 46 lakh internet subscribers.
As it is seen, 53.3% of the total subscribers of Grameenphone are using internet.
Yasir Ajman, Chief Executive Officer of GP, said that more and more customers have opted for Grameenphone due to their continuous efforts on improving the quality of customer experience and digitization. Internet usage also increased in the second quarter for the same reason. In the first quarter, Grameenphone expanded its Forge service to all its towers.
