Google’s foldable smartphone. Pixel Fold officially

As expected, during the Google I/O 2023 event, the search giant presented its first foldable smartphone. Here is the Pixel Fold.

At the outset, I have to disappoint those interested, because Google does not provide for the availability of Pixel Folda in Poland. Willing people will go for it, for example, to Germany or Great Britain.

is it worth it? Well, it is certainly an extraordinary device.

Compared to the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Pixel Fold is much shorter, and at the same time noticeably wider. I have prepared a simple comparison graphic with the proportions preserved.

Such dimensions are to ensure high mobility while maintaining the comfort of typing on a virtual keyboard after folding.

The highlight of the programs is, of course, the 7.6-inch internal screen. This one – apart from simply being big – is to be used sensibly by software, although Google is unlikely to discover America here. Pixel Fold can even display two large windows with applications at the same time.

Of the functions typical for folded smartphones, it is also worth mentioning the possibility of taking selfies using the main camera …

… or displaying multimedia on half of the bent screen.

However, Google has also added something original. Pixel Fold has a two-screen Translator, which is intended to facilitate communication between two people who speak different languages ​​opposite each other.

The Pixel Fold design is waterproof, symmetrically folded and – according to Google’s declaration – above-average durability.

The specification is unlikely to give anyone a reason to complain. Google even thought of a periscope telephoto lens, which is rare in the world of foldable smartphones.

Available colors are porcelain and black. Pixel Fold is to receive security patches for 5 years.

In Germany, Google’s foldable smartphone was priced at EUR 1,899, which is the equivalent of PLN 8,580.

It’s not cheap, but the Pixel Watch is added to the set as part of the pre-order.
