As originally discovered and announced at the beginning of March this year, Google’s Contacts app intends to help users better understand when other people’s birthdays are. A new feature that was only available in beta testing until now, finally launched into a sharp version of the application. It also appeared in our editorial phones, so we bring you a first look.
If you have already received the new feature, you can find it in the Contacts app by tapping on “Choices” tab. New bubble with label “Add your birthday” it leads to a list of contacts where you can add a birthday (or other anniversary if you like) using the button with the cake icon on the right.
The date thus inserted automatically prescribes in the Calendar as well, if you have birthday events activated here. For individual contacts, it is possible to also turn on notifications, which Google then delivers across its services. For us, this is a very clever and logical connection.
Where have you celebrated your birthday so far?
