Subscription cold in bullion market
Indore. In the bullion market, in the last two days, there was a good amount of subscription to buy Cadbury in exchange of 2000 notes, but as soon as the new rules of the government came, the subscription has cooled down, as well as the prices of gold and silver have dropped due to foreign recession. After going up to $ 1965.50 an ounce on Comex, it remained at $ 1960.80 an ounce. Silver traded higher at $23.64 an ounce, later trading at $23.16 an ounce. Slowdown in palm oil due to weak demand and increase in production
Indore. Malaysian palm oil futures fell for a second session on Tuesday, closing at the lowest level in three weeks as markets weighed down on sluggish demand and expectations of higher production. The benchmark palm oil contract for August delivery slipped 47 ringgit, or 1.37 percent, to 3,381 ringgit ($762.34) a tonne on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange, the lowest since April 28. The contract was up 1.17 per cent during early trade. Palm oil is now shedding its tight aversion on soft oils, but it appears destination markets are in no rush and are waiting on competition to further widen palm oil discounts. India’s palm oil imports will fall to their lowest in 27 months in May, dealers and cargo surveyors said, as its scarce premium over other edible oils prompted buyers to cancel cargoes and replace them with soy oil and sunflower oil. Among related oils, Dalian’s most active soy oil contract fell 0.6 percent, while its palm oil contract fell 0.4 percent. Soy oil prices were down 1.2 percent on the Chicago Board of Trade. Palm oil is affected by price fluctuations in related oils as they compete for a share of the global vegetable oils market.
