Gathering and bar open after 6pm in Cinisello Balsamo: fines and closure are triggered

Not only a gathering, but also the overrun of the closing time imposed by the Dpcm on the Coronavirus emergency. Double trouble for the owner of a bar of Cinisello Balsamo, municipality in the hinterland of Milan. On the afternoon of Monday, January 11, local police officers and those of the state police surprised a group of people standing in front of the public establishment which was still open well after the closing time set by the government at 6 pm. The officers identified and fined for gathering all those present, including the owner of the bar: for the latter, the closure of the restaurant was also ordered for five days.

The intervention of the policemen in the bar located in via Frova took place at 18.30, after the closing time set by the Dpcm. From 6pm onwards, bars could only work with takeaways, but this is one of the points that could be subject to a further restriction by the government starting from the next Dpcm which should come into force after January 15.

The intervention of the police in Cinisello Balsamo ended with a total of six fines, the closing of the bar and even a complaint: one of those present will in fact have to answer for insult to a public official, because after the sanction was announced began to offend the agents. However, the Cinisello bar is not the only case of a “rebellious” restaurant in the province of Milan: the prefect Renato Saccone has ordered the closure for five days of five neighborhood businesses, three in Milan, one in Paullo and one in Vanzaghello. Others could be added to this list: on January 15th also several Milanese clubs have in fact joined the social campaign “Io apro” and could remain open in protest, violating the rules.
