Galicia will extend the wealth tax bonus to 50% from 2023

The president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Ruedaannounced this Friday a 50% rebate on wealth tax in the region, adding a 25% discount to the other 25% that was already applied. The Galician leader has advanced that the wealth tax will have a bonus that will reach half the amount to be paid by people with goods or rights valued at more than 2 million euros.

Rueda has given a conference entitled ‘Competitiveness and innovation for a Galicia with more certainties’ at the Economic Forum of La Voz de Galicia and has assured that currently this tribute already enjoys a 25% bonus, which will add another similar discount until reaching the aforementioned 50%. “It is much better to lower taxes than to raise them.“, has defended and affirmed that in Galicia there are “stimuli” to create “a favorable climate” on certain issues, such as the demographic challenge.

Asked if he will lower taxes on fuel, which in Galicia are at the highest level, he said that the budgets are still being drawn up, although he clarified that “the Xunta cannot reach everything or do everything alone“. At the conference, Rueda considered that society has a series of “challenges” that “are not at all simple”, with issues such as the price of gas, inflation, or the execution of European funds, in which “the only thing What is a certainty today is doubt”.

“What has been built in recent years, in recent decades, is, at the very least, faltering,” he assured. Faced with this situation, the Galician president sees three options: a “triumphantist stance that denies the dangers”, with which he links, without citing it, to the Government, another “catastrophist” with a “more tremendous speech without providing solutions” and, finally, the “way of the ‘sentidiño'”, which is his.
