Furious, KPAI Called Aisha Weddings Abuse Children

Suara.com – The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) assessed that wedding organizer owner Aisha Weddings had abused children. Starting from the promotion of underage marriage to posting photos of children as marketing objects.

Deputy Chairman of KPAI Rita Pranawati said her party saw two sides of the existence of Aisha Weddings. The first is about the site and its Instagram. There, they put up photos of the children as if they were for sale.

“There is a picture of a child looking for a good husband according to Islam, let us choose, the one who chooses is the picture of the child. That’s the exploitation of the child’s image,” said Rita in an online discussion held by the Setara Institute, Saturday (13/2/2021 ).

Furthermore, Rita also highlighted the narrative created by Aisha Weddings in promoting the provision of child marriage services.

He felt goosebumps when he read that marriage is a solution so that children don’t starve to death.

According to him, this is outrageous because it considers children to be objects that can be treated casually.

“I got goosebumps and it was too much and I should have known there were no victims, the meaning of which was to be prosecuted,” he said.

Rita, as the representative of KPAI, also supports the reporting of Aisha Weddings by Indonesian Millennial Friends (SAMINDO) -SETARA Institute to the police in addition to her party who also reported to the National Police Headquarters.
