Fugitive accused Junaid arrested in Lohagara

Junaid, 26, a fugitive accused in various cases in Chittagong’s Lohagara, has finally been caught by the police. Police were able to arrest him on Wednesday evening while he was secretly planning terrorist activities from a shop in Fatehgarh Murar, Adhunagar.

The arrested Junaid is a resident of Adhunagar Hanifar Para. There are about 10/12 cases against him in Lohagara police station on charges of involvement in Jamaat-Shibir including murder, vandalism, arson and sabotage. Sensing the presence of police during the arrest, Junaid’s other accomplices managed to escape.

The operation was led by ASI AKM Yunus of Chunti police outpost and his allied forces.

Lohagara Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jaker Hossain Mahmud said Junaid, who was booked in several cases, was arrested and sent to Chittagong Jail on Thursday morning.
