What happened tonight on the highway, near the tolls of Pelasgia, is unprecedented and it is truly a miracle that there was no frontal collision, since the drunk driver was moving upside down and without lights for several kilometers.
According to LamiaReport, a Bulgarian took his boss’s farm and was moving from Glyfa to Lamia. Apparently he wanted to go from the side road, however he entered the highway normally from the Glyfa junction in the direction of Lamia.
When he approached the tolls of Pelasgia and saw the lights from the patrol cars of the PATHE Magnesia Motorway, he stopped and turned off the lights. Suddenly the police see the driver of the farm turning around and leaving without lights driving upside down on the highway.
Drivers who move normally see a rural vehicle without lights coming at it. Some people manage to avoid it. Unfortunately not all. The rural initially hits a Nissan whose driver was lucky and was not injured.
The next car is a BMW driven by a 55-year-old military doctor, who suddenly sees the farm coming at him. The doctor maneuvers to avoid a head-on collision with the rural one, but falls on a truck moving in the right lane and is injured.
The Bulgarian with the rural half-dissolved, as you can see in the photos, continues to drive upside down and as soon as he reaches the junction he leaves the highway and heads to Pelasgia.
Finally, shortly before he reaches the village, he stops and tries to escape, but he does not manage to go far, since the police of the Magnesia Motorway Traffic Police, who were following him, stop him and arrest him.
According to information, the Bulgarian was slightly injured and obviously drunk, while it is being examined if there was a co-driver in the dismantled farm, who may have disappeared in the olive groves.
An EKAB ambulance received the injured military doctor, a BMW driver, who was taken to the Emergency Department of the Lamia hospital and according to information, his life is not in danger.
The driver who spread the panic was arrested by police officers of the Magnesia Motorway Traffic and will be taken to the highway tomorrow.
