So, State Duma deputy Nikolai Novichkov wrote a statement addressed to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation with a request to conduct an audit and give a legal opinion on the actions of the red-and-white forward. According to him, he not only insulted the Brazilian defender, but “expressed extreme disrespect for society, grossly violated public order and created a security threat.”

Nevertheless, the first to express their opinion on this issue was the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FTC RFU), whose meeting was held on May 24. And as a result of its results, the participants in the conflict could either receive a more serious disciplinary sanction, or, conversely, be fully justified. And in this regard, the recommendations of the Expert-Judicial Commission could be important. According to media reports, she advised to cancel Roche’s red card, while Sobolev’s punishment should remain in force.

However, the captain’s speech did not help Sobolev avoid additional sanctions. Forced to go to the meeting by metro, the Spartak striker was suspended for four meetings for an indecent gesture towards Roshi. Thus, he not only lost the opportunity to help his team in the fight for the silver medals of this season and play in the final rounds with Pari NN and Wings of the Soviets, but will also be forced to miss the start of the next RPL championship.

In the case of Rocha, the committee made a different decision. Supporting the recommendation of the ESC, he recognized the punishment of the Brazilian for repeating Sobolev’s gesture as unlawful and canceled his red card. And thus allowed the main defender of CSKA to enter the field in the meeting with Krasnodar, which can become one of the key ones in the context of the battle for second place. If the army team loses to their future opponent in the Russian Cup final, then it will be enough for Spartak to score one point in the confrontation with Pari NN to bypass them in the standings.

“Rosha was removed… by mistake. The FTC decided to correct the mistake of the judges and cancel the red card, ”explained Grigoryants.

Thus, the committee did not listen to the arguments of the representatives of Spartak, who accused Rosa of provoking Sobolev. The organization confirmed that the CSKA defender did correct his shorts several times in front of the opponent’s forward, but this was not an attempt to offend him.

According to the head of the FTC RFU, there is a significant difference between the actions of the players. If the first did it mechanically, then the second deliberately performed it against the opponent.

“Sobolev had an accented gesture – when he grabbed his genitals. How was it understood? It is offensive in terms of ethics and general norms. I won’t say what name it has. The FTC has a concept of this gesture… It means, first of all, the act of an obscene character of one person in relation to another,” explained Grigoryants.

At the same time, there is reason to believe that in the future we can expect the continuation of the story not only around Sobolev, but also Roshi. According to Grigoryants, the FTC plans to analyze in detail the episode in which the Brazilian allegedly insulted the Russian, calling him a clown.

“We listened to the interview, the opinion of the player himself on this matter. “Spartak” filed a petition that it is necessary to provide a conclusion of a specialist in his words. We used to have an independent expert interpreter present, but in a day and a half we were unable to secure his presence at today’s meeting. We have decided to satisfy Spartak’s petition, separate the case into a separate proceeding and send Roshi’s words from the FTC for examination to an independent organization,” Grigoryants added.
