This is a bitter first. On Monday, the Frontex agency responsible for monitoring the European Union’s external borders presented the uniform that will soon be worn by European coast guards and border guards. A classic navy blue style, with a small star flag on the sleeve, which will replace the simple sky blue armband today. This symbol of fortress Europe will constitute the first European uniform ever worn. Evolution accompanies the creation of a “Permanent European body” border guards, the first 700 of which will be deployed during the month of January.
