Starting next week, from Monday, October 18, adults who do not have covid certificates will not have a reduced fare – the Ministry of Transport has informed about this in connection with the announcement of an emergency in Latvia.

It is envisaged that Effective October 18, discounts on non-covid adult rides will not apply on routes operated by a public transport provider that receives a government or local government subsidy.

In order, first of all, to provide the opportunity for schoolchildren, students and teachers to get to educational institutions, the number of passengers in the vehicle does not change – it does not exceed 80% of the vehicle’s capacity.

To reduce epidemiological risks, the carrier must ensure regular disinfection of the vehicle and ventilation of the cabin.
Passengers are still required to wear masks that cover their nose and mouth while traveling.

If, due to the peculiarities of the vehicle, it is impossible to control the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, then passengers should select seats in such a way that the cabin is evenly filled and, if possible, maintain a distance.
