A gathering of old-timers was organized in Ćićevac for the fourth time. As if in a time machine, with cars 40 years old and older, their owners came from all over Serbia to socialize and show off their valuable pets.
The image of cars that have long been gone on our roads aroused nostalgic feelings among visitors and reminded them of the time when their owners proudly drove powerful machines. They still enjoy them today with no less love and pride, he says RTS.
“The car was manufactured in 1959, in Great Britain. The car is 1,700 cubic meters, unlike today’s cars, it has three speeds,” Rade Aleksić, who came from Paraćin, described his car.
Owners also have memories of four-wheelers that they devotedly take care of and mostly service themselves.
“My grandfather used to drive the company’s director, and then at the first auction when they wanted to sell the car, he bought a Fiat 1,300 elegant. That’s how he came to our house and became a member of the family,” said Jelena Nikolić, president of the “Marilyn Monroe” association.
“Even as a child, I always turned to such rustic things, not only cars, old gramophones… So I think that a person is born with that desire, and of course he comes to an age when he can afford it.” says Dejan Stević from the Pomoravlje auto-moto club from Paraćin.
Pontiac from 1931, imported from America, domestic fica, popular beetles, tristacs and all the cars on display attracted a lot of attention from the people of Ćićev and other visitors.
“And in the next novels, maybe something like this Pontiac from the year 31 will be driven, because they really carry some soul, beauty, value and have that dose of mystery that is necessary for every crime writer,” believes Ana Berbakov, writer.
“I’m more into cars than some maybe more feminine things so I enjoy all of this. If I have a driver’s license and certainly – this manifestation is according to my personal taste,” said the president of the Municipality of Ćićevac, Mirjana Krlić.
This gathering of old-timers also had a humanitarian character. Funds were collected for the Monastery of the Holy Virgin in nearby Mrzenica.
