Batu Pahat: Four suspects in a robbery case were shot dead by a police team after being involved in a fight and returned fire at Jalan Pagoh-Parit Sulong, here, today.

Johor Police Chief, Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said, in the incident at 3.15 am, the police from the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) of the Johor Contingent Headquarters (IPK) and the Criminal Investigation Division of the Batu Pahat District Police Headquarters (IPD) detained two vehicles in a situation suspicious.

He said there was a fight when the suspect was arrested and the suspect attacked the police with a machete and kerambit causing the police to fire.

According to him, a suspect stabbed a police officer with a kerambit until he was slightly injured in the arm.

“Further investigation found that the seized Perodua Myvi car was reported missing in Desa Cemerlang, Tebrau.

“Police believe the group is actively committing robbery and breaking into office and factory premises in Johor,” he said.

He said the inspection found that the four suspects had no identities believed to be foreigners and the police confiscated a black Revolver pistol with six casings and four bullets, two machetes and a kerambit.

According to him, some equipment believed to be for housebreaking was confiscated along with two vehicles were reported missing earlier.

“The bodies of all the suspects believed to be in their 20s to 40s were taken to the Forensic Medical Unit of Enche ‘Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital (HEBHK) in Kluang for an autopsy.

“The case is being investigated under Section 307/186 of the Penal Code,” he said.
