Rangpur RAB-13 arrested former UP member Mofazzal Hossain Makka (25) and his two accomplices along with four hundred and five pieces of Yaba tablets in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat.
They were arrested from their home in Makkah yesterday Saturday night (May 13) in West Kadma area of Velaguri Union of Hatibandha Upazila.
Others are former UP member Makka’s younger brother Mizanur Rahman and Noor Mohammad of the same union. Mofazzal Hossain is a former member of Ward No. 1 of Makkah Velaguri Union.
According to police sources, Makkah, a former member of UP, has been trading illegal drugs crossing the Indian border to Bangladesh, avoiding the eyes of the administration. Based on such secret information, a team of Rangpur RAB-13 raided the house of Makka, a former member of Velaguri Union of that upazila.
At that time, four hundred and five Yaba along with Makka and two others were arrested from the scene. A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act in their name on Sunday morning.
Mohammad Musa Mia, OC (Investigation) of Hatibandha Police Station, said that Rangpur RAB-13 raided on Saturday night and arrested three people along with drugs and handed them over to Hatibandha Police Station. On Sunday morning, they were arrested and sent to jail through the court.
