Representatives of trade unions in the field of health and social care and government representatives will today sign an agreement on urgent measures in the field of wages in health care and an annex to sectoral collective agreements.
The Government authorized the Minister of Health to sign the agreement and annexes to the collective agreements for the activity of health and social care and for employees in nursing. Janeza Poklukarja and the Minister of Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Janez Cigler Kralj.
The agreement was initialed last week by the government and the president of the health and social care union Irena Ilešič Čujovič and president of the nursing union Slavica Mencingar. Today, the signatures of all 11 representative unions are expected under the annexes.
The deal brings higher salaries to about 35,000 employees, the most of which will go up to hospital nurses.
Wage changes apply to about 200 jobs, which employ about 35,000 people. The agreed solutions mean higher salaries for more than 80 percent of employees in health care, 80 percent of employees in social care and 40 percent of employees in salary group J in health and social work.
