Football Leaks: Collaborator says he is unaware of Doyen loans to Portuguese clubs

In the continuation of the testimony that filled the 30th session of the Football Leaks trial, the witness reiterated not knowing that the investment fund had lent money to national clubs, even when confronted in the audience room with a document from Doyen, in which these financial transactions were listed.

“For my part, in terms of loan repayments, I was aware of situations in other countries. Loans in Portugal have never passed through me, ”he said, stressing:“ I don’t know this sheet of the document. I only know the ERPA contract sheet [Economic Rights Participation Agreement], virtually. Nélio Lucas knows the document better ”.

To different questions, Pedro Henriques replied several times not to remember or have no idea, but before the forensic report requested by Doyen and which stated that the servers of the investment fund’s computer system were in Coimbra and not in London, the former employee of Nélio Lucas was determined to acknowledge the incorrect information.

“As far as I know, Doyen has never had servers at WIT Software, in Coimbra. This information is wrong, it does not correspond to the truth ”, said Pedro Henriques, adding that this may have happened because it was this computer consultant who presented him with Alfresco ‘software’, used for the document management of folders in Doyen’s computer system.

While Pedro Henriques summed up his duties at Doyen to “deliver and clarify documents”, ensuring that he did not know the fund’s auditors or whether the offices in which he said he had been in London really belonged to the company, Rui Pinto was astonished with some answers and went conferring with their lawyers during the brief inquiry.

The next session of the trial is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, starting at 9:30 am.

Rui Pinto, 32, is responsible for a total of 90 crimes: 68 of undue access, 14 of violation of correspondence, six of illegitimate access, targeting entities such as Sporting, Doyen, PLMJ law firm, the Portuguese Federation of Football (FPF) and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), and also for computer sabotage to Sporting’s SAD and for extortion, in the attempted form. This last crime concerns Doyen and was also what led to the pronunciation of the lawyer Aníbal Pinto.

The creator of Football Leaks has been free since August 7, “due to his collaboration” with the Judiciary Police (PJ) and his “critical sense”, but is, for security reasons, inserted in the protection program of witnesses in an undisclosed location and under police protection.
