Mozart and Mahler
With the participation of pianist Ádám Balogh Mozart: 14th piano concerto (in E flat major) and Mahler: VI. (in A minor) performs his “Tragic” symphony conducted by the MÁV Symphony Orchestra under Christoph Campestrini. Mahler VI. analysts wrote volumes about his symphony. The period he wrote was a passionately happy period of his life, he was recently married, they were just expecting their second child. The work employs a very long band with a huge number of members, its musical material is complex and although it contains lyrical parts, its basic mood and especially its final tone is very sad – although the Tragic adjective was not fitted by him. The piano soloist of Mozart’s work, pianist Ádám Balogh, continued his university studies in 2016 after graduating from the Extraordinary Talent Trainer of the Liszt Ferenc University of Music. He made his debut as a soloist in the concert with the Budapest Festival Orchestra in 2010, and since then he has played with several renowned orchestras both at home and abroad. Winner of several prestigious international awards.
Live broadcast from the main hall of the Academy of Music on the website of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, on the FB website and on the YouTube channel 19.00
