Five entities and companies opt for the management and operation of the CFPA of Martorell

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Esquemes Informàtics SL, Fundació Eurecat, MSX International Techservices SL and Disseny Educatiu SL are the five entities and companies that have submitted to the tender process for the management and operation of the Center de Martorell Automotive Vocational Training (CFPA). Some of the companies have been required to submit documentation within three days. If they do not submit it within this period, they will not be able to participate in the tender.

The Department of Business and Labor, through the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC), published on October 1 the announcement of the tender, which involves the concession of the management and operation of the CFPA for 15 years, extendable 10 more years. Interested companies and entities could submit their applications for participation until 4 November. After compliance with the rest of the administrative procedure – which includes companies submitting their bids and subsequent technical assessment according to the established criteria -, the notification of the award is expected to take place at the end of January 2022.

Guarantee a training offer adapted to the needs of the sector

In October 2020, the SOC opened a preliminary market consultation to jointly define the conditions and criteria that were to govern the tender for the management and operation of the CFPA. The aim of this previous consultation process was to approach the expectations of potential bidding companies to the management model of this center and, above all, to the professional qualification needs of the automotive sector.

In accordance with the content of the tender specifications, the CFPA is configured as a reference center where initial vocational training, vocational training for employment and training scheduled by companies for the sector of the automotive, in order to ensure a training offer adapted to the needs of the automotive sector and related.

In addition to this central objective, the CFPA will develop other activities such as the promotion of cooperation and exchange relations with other national and international training centers, the development and provision of career guidance and employment services, the promotion of technological innovation and research related to training, carrying out activities for sustainability and environmental preservation in the training environment, and the actual operation of the CFPA facilities.

For the Department and the SOC, the CFPA of Martorell must become a key facility to consolidate the competitiveness of the automotive sector and the companies themselves, improving productivity and helping to create jobs and qualification and continuous requalification of people.

Until now, the CFPA of Martorell, which was inaugurated in 2015, did not have any company to manage it. With the new bidding process, five entities and companies are opting for the management of the center. The Department, through the Public Employment Service, began a process of prior market consultation, which worked on the needs and different possibilities of the CFPA itself, reflecting in the current proposal the main demands of the sector and which have been keys to the success of the process.
