1. Star Arctic, Saariselkä
Located at the top of Kaunispää in Saariselkä Ski Resort, Star Arctic Hotel has exceptionally handsome sauna facilities. The windows open the landscape from a height of more than 430 meters. The hotel’s two saunas are both in the main building.
Sauna facilities are only rented for private use, so there are no general sauna shifts at the hotel. Even if you do not stay at the hotel, you can inquire whether a sauna can be rented for your party.
2. SkySauna, Helsinki
Did you know that one of the gondolas on a ferris wheel in Katajanokka, Helsinki, is equipped with a sauna? The sauna facilities of the SkyWheel are called SkySauna, and at its highest it rises to a height of 40 meters by the sea.
The sauna can be rented for up to 15 people. With 4-5 saunas on a gondola ride, the rest of the party can wait their turn in the outdoor hot tub.
The sauna takes place at the Parade Place in the capital. A stone’s throw away are, for example, the Market Square, Helsinki Cathedral and Uspenski Cathedral. The sauna is closed during the coldest winter months.
3. Landscape sauna Pramee, Pori
Finnish summer classics include the Yyteri sand dunes in Pori. At the Yyteri Recreation Hotel in the area, you can admire the scenery all year round from the panoramic sauna. The Pramee landscape sauna is built so that the saunas have a direct view of the sea from a large window.
According to the hotel, the sauna can accommodate 6 to 10 people at a time. The sauna facilities can be rented for up to 15-25 people, as there is also a roof terrace and an outdoor hot tub.
4. Sauna gondola, Ylläs
The specialty of Ylläs Ski Resort is the sauna gondola, which takes you to the top of the slope like gondola lifts. The cabin can accommodate four saunas at a time.
However, the experience can be booked for up to 12 people, as there is also a custom sauna and an outdoor hot tub at the top of the mountain. The gondola ride starting from the top takes 20 minutes.
5. Panorama and Mualiman Sauna, Tahko
Tahko Ski Center in Kuopio has as many as two landscape saunas. At the end of 2019, a panoramic sauna was opened at the top of the slope in connection with the Panorama restaurant, which can accommodate about 12 people at a time. The sauna promises a view over Syvärijärvi and the village of Tahko. There is also a lot of spring water.
Another place for landscape steam is the Mualiman Sauna for 20 people, which can accommodate a larger group at a time. You can even get to the sauna by chair lift, skiing or hiking.
