Festival of Inventive Music, Fieldsis launching its first relocated edition, which will include lectures on the sonic treasures of the Balkans, meeting the European avant-garde and sharing local culture.
Initially based in Moscow, the festival traveled thousands of kilometers to the southwest and moved to Belgrade. This year, Fields presents a multi-layered program that will take place from June 16 to 18 at 3 locations: Jevremovac Botanical Gardencinemaska sal Youth home and summer stage in Drugstore.
Through his past releases, Fields has created a new cultural environment that has brought together curious seekers of musical pleasures from different generations, subcultures and opinions. Post-ravers, ethno-futurists, jazz-punks, debunkers of music theory, pop-reformers and radical avant-gardes – they all met and socialized at Fields.
Coming up Fields RS offers an ecstatic exchange of experiences, a somewhat partial exploration of an unknown musical landscape, a temporary reconstruction of the festival’s own traditions, a convergence of cultures, and a modest celebration of musical hedonism.
Fields RS will embark on an adventurous journey beyond the “genre buoys”. There will be avant-folk and queer-electronica in the Slovenian style, Belgrade dub and traditional Serbian village acapella, American guitar minimalism, paradise rave from Great Britain, new age reflections from Russia, and much more.
Among other things, Fields is renewing the tradition of curatorial programs. In order for visitors to get to know the local culture better, the festival invited two female curators: Svetlana Spajićthe legend of the Serbian folk and jazz avant-garde, and SUTRAthe main promo team specializing in off-beat dance electronica.
