Fictiv lists automatically generated 2D drawings

Fictitious introduced on July 28 the first industrial feature that allows engineers to create and edit 2D drawings from 3D models in seconds. In addition to designing CAD parts, engineers often have to communicate production requirements using a 2D drawing. However, this preparation process can be laborious and time consuming and is therefore often a neglected step in the early stages of development.

By digitizing and automating this traditionally manual element of the documentation process, Fictiv allows its customers to easily communicate critical requirements, resulting in higher quality parts at all stages of product launch.
A new tool, available on the Fictiv platform, allows customers to automatically generate 2D drawings that can be viewed and edited simply by uploading a 3D model. The result is a clear, standardized and easy-to-understand drawing, created in seconds.
Each 2D Fictiv drawing contains one isometric view, three profile views (top, front, and right), and any additional profile views needed to display properties that have not yet been highlighted. Once drawings are created, they can be easily edited and annotated to remove old requirements, highlight quality-critical features (CTQs) that require inspection, etc. All annotated drawings are inspected by Fictiv production experts to ensure compliance.
