The head of the federation stated that in case the authorities do not comply with these requirements by February 1, the FPU will resort to mass protests.
Kiev. January 21. UNIAN. The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FUU) asks the authorities to return the state regulation of gas prices and preferential electricity tariffs, as the incomes of citizens, which significantly decreased during the coronary crisis, do not allow to pay for utilities.
This was announced at a press conference in UNIAN by the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Hryhoriy Osovy.
“The Federation of Trade Unions has made an unequivocal assessment: the state policy in the energy sector of public utilities is not working for the benefit of citizens and needs a radical overhaul. We made our demands to the President, the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. First, we believe that until a civilized market for energy resources is formed, it is necessary to restore state regulation of prices in both the natural gas market and the electricity market. At least until the end of the quarantine, “he said.
Secondly, the FPU proposes to repeal the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, which abolished the preferential electricity tariff of 90 kopecks for the first 100 W-hours. And also do not revise the rule according to which the subsidy is provided if the cost of utilities is 15% of income.
“We are extremely outraged that the government intends in March to abolish the rate at which the subsidy was provided if the cost of utilities exceeds 15% of income, and increase this rate to 20%,” – said Osovy.
“What do we have, the income of the population is growing, that it is possible to raise the standard for subsidies? The increase in tariff prices, if not stopped, will many times exceed the growth of citizens’ incomes, even despite the increase in the minimum wage, “he added.
The head of the federation stated that in case the authorities do not comply with these requirements by February 1, the FPU will mobilize its supporters and resort to mass protests.
Vadym Bubnyak, Chairman of the Trade Union of Railway Workers and Transport Builders of Ukraine, who was present at the press conference, noted that with a significant increase in utility tariffs in most industries, wages increased by 5-7%. According to him, the salaries of transporters remained at the level of 2019, and the salaries of railway workers fell by 5%.
“I have never seen such a degradation of wages. We would like to take into account the opinion of trade unions when forming tariffs. After all, in most cases, all our recommendations are ignored. We are ready to take people out to protect their rights. All increases in gas and electricity tariffs must be justified. Everyone should understand why this is being done, “he stressed.
The head of the Trade Unions of Producers and Entrepreneurs Natalia Zemlyanska noted that the cost of Ukrainian gas production is not more than three hryvnias per 1 cubic meter. m, but citizens are forced to pay for gas at ten hryvnia per cubic meter.
“Why do citizens have to pay such space prices for gas, even though we have our own gas production?” – Zemlyanska said, adding that, in her opinion, the state should regain control over the state holding “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and control the implementation of programs to increase Ukrainian gas production.
Oleksiy Gromov, a spokesman for the Social Movement, said it was necessary to regain control of the supervisory boards of state-owned energy companies.
“Work supervision should be introduced instead of Supervisory Boards. Society should have control over supervisory boards and heads of state-owned companies in order to reduce the corruption component, ”Gromov said.
Oleksandr Shubin, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, believes that regulators, represented by the Antimonopoly Committee and the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP), are inefficient in controlling competition, quality and prices of services provided by energy companies. .
“Therefore, we appeal to the government to exercise its powers over the regulator – the National Commission for Regulation of Economic Competition. We appeal to the Antimonopoly Committee, demanding effective regulation from it, “Shubin said.

On January 18, the Cabinet of Ministers set a maximum gas price of UAH 6.99 per 1 cubic meter from February until the end of the heating season. m for household consumers.
The Cabinet of Ministers abolished the preferential price for electricity for the population of 90 kopecks for the first 100 kWh from January 2021 and set it at UAH 1.68 per 1 kWh. In addition, the 90-kopeck benefit for the first 3,000 kWh when using electricity for heating was abolished. The tariff of UAH 1.68 / kW has already started to apply to all electricity.
