“From yesterday’s WSBK security activity, four perpetrators consisting of one man and three women were caught stealing a spectator’s cellphone from the green ticket stands,” said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, in a press conference with the Director General of the NTB Police, Kombes Hari Brata. in Mataram, Tuesday (23/11).
According to Artanto, it is suspected that the gang’s action was premeditated.
This was corroborated by the findings of evidence in the form of four mobile phone units, namely one iPhone brand and three Samsungs.
“They got stuff in action on Sunday,” he said.
Kombes Hari Brata explained that the action of the pickpocket syndicate was revealed from the active surveillance of police officers in the stands.
“So, initially one of the perpetrators was caught red-handed by members dressed in ‘plain-clothes’ who we spread out in the stands. So, one was caught at the TKP (standby stands), the other was caught at Lembar Harbor,” he said.
The pickpocket gang consisting of father, mother, children, and neighbors, compactly pickpocketing at the moment of the WSBK event in Mandalika was arrested by the NTB Police.
